The Bible is filled with amazing specific prophecies that have come to pass. For the next two days were going to be discussing prophecies that concern Israel, that have come to pass.
Why does the whole world hate Israel?
Isn’t that strange? Why is everybody getting so excited about that little tiny plot of land called Israel? Israel only takes up the space of about 1/6th of 1% of all Muslim countries. Why are the Muslims so concerned about taking away Israel’s tiny piece of land? The Bible addresses this strange phenomenon.
Zechariah 12:1-3 “ The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. (2) Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. (3) And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”
God will gather His people back to Israel
God says in multiple places in His word that he will gather His people who have been scattered, and will draw them back to their homeland. These scriptures have been fulfilled multiple times.
Ezekiel 20:34-38 “And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out. (35) And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. (36) Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you, saith the Lord GOD. (37) And I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant: (38) And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”
Isaiah 11:11-12 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. (12) And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.”
Israel will be born in one day
Isaiah 66:7-10 “Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. (8) Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. (9) Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. (10) Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:”
For almost 2,500 years, Israel did not exist as a nation and on May 14th 1948 Israel was born as a nation once again.
The exact order of Israel’s return
This prophecy is fascinating in that it details the exact order in which the Israelites would return home to Israel. The Israelites first came from the east (Arab countries), then from the west (Europe), next they came from the north (Russia) and lastly they came from the south (Ethiopia).
Isaiah 43:1-6 “But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. (2) When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (3) For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. (4) Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. (5) Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; (6) I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;”
You would almost think a God who stood outside space and time, wrote the Bible. Tune in tomorrow as we look at a few more interesting prophecies about the nation of Israel.
